| | ACT Alliance of Chico-area Theatres
ACT is a newly formed group of local theatre enthusiasts whose primary goal is to promote live theatre of all kinds--from traditional musicals and children's theatre to cutting-edge drama--throughout the Chico area. ACT member theatres are committed to encouraging theatre goers to experience the wide array of theatre that Chico has to offer, to pooling resources whenever possible, and in general to promoting a sense of good will and common community among participating theatres and their audiences.
Member theatres include: Blue Room Theatre Chico Cabaret Sitting around your own table, laughing with friends and famly, enjoying a drink or special desert. having enough space to stretch your legs & relax while watching a fast-paced, high energy show makes the Chico Cabaret a special and unique local theatre environment.
Chico Theater Company (CTC) produces family oriented shows with a heavy emphasis on musical theater. Our goal is to get people to stay in this area and enjoy the wonderful local theater that the Chico area offers. We also want to foster and grow an interest in the performing arts through our youth theater program, Chico Children's Theater Company (CCTC).
Ensemble Theatre Company (Shakespeare in the Park)
Theatre on the Ridge is located in the foothill community of Paradise, Calif., about 10 miles east of Chico.
CSU, Chico Department of Theatre Arts Classroom experiences are coordinated with and supplemented by the department's extensive program of eight to ten annual productions. These productions include two major musicals and an opera (in conjunction with the Music Department), a fall dance concert, an evening of student directed one-acts, and a selection of comedies and dramas that cover the spectrum of historical periods, genres and production styles. | |
