Dracula

By Steven Dietz

Directed by Amber Miller

The Blue Room Theatre is proud to announce Steven Dietz’ chilling and spine-tingling adaptation of Bram Stoker’s gothic classic novel, “Dracula” opening October 10 at 7:30p.m

Set in 1897 in London and Transylavania, the play depicts a society ovetaken by an unexpected darkness that hungers for the purest of hearts. As Dracula engulfs their lives, they find themselves in a dark world of unexplained fear and uncontrollable passion. Moving quickly from Lucy’s bedroom to Dracula’s castle, to a London asylum, the play is a feast for the senses. “The music will chill you, “explains director Amber Miller, “the blood is plentiful; there are storms and howling wolves, writhing vixens, even a real rat!”

In this new adaptation of the gothic classic, Steven Dietz delivers the suspense and seduction of Stoker’s novel to the stage. Rich with both humor and horror, this play paints a wickedly theatrical picture of Stoker’s famous vampire. The leading ladies and gentlemen are as follows: Padraig Downey-Dracula; Callen Reece-Harker; Brett Edwards-Seward; Queena Delaney-Mina; Samantha Perry-Lucy; David Calkins-Van Helsing; David Clyne-Renfield

Dracula will be performed at the Blue Room Theatre Oct. 10-26 every Thursday through Saturday. All shows will be at 7:30. Tickets are $10 general, $8 students and seniors on Friday and Saturdays; on Thursdays all seats are $5.
