|
| | Upcoming Auditions at the Blue Room Theatre in chronological order:
November 22nd and 23rd 6-8pm: “What would you do for $100”. Seeking short (under five minutes) acts for a Holiday themed Variety show (think “Laugh In” but funny and slightly off color). Selected acts will compete for an audience awarded cash purse, no less than $100. Show runs two nights only, December 18th and 19th from 7:30pm to approximately 9:30pm. All auditions taken seriously.

Also on November 22nd, 3-5pm at the Blue Room Theatre
Calling all male and female actors to be in a short film about a group of 20 something year old journalists entitled "Writers". The plot takes place in an office throughout the entire film. Think "It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia" meets the more dry British version of "The Office." This is a student project for a Chico State Media Arts class. Must be comfortable with vulgar material and willing to attack scenes with abundant dialogue. Improv skills and/or experience are a plus but don't mistakes these qualifications as needs. They are simply preferred. We encourage everyone and anyone to read the script and contact me, Cameron Ford, about setting up an audition before thanksgiving break. Filming will commence after the break most likely on weekends.

Before the revolutionary rock musical Rent, Jonathan Larson had another story to tell - his own. tick, tick...BOOM! is a three-character pop rock musical about facing crossroads in life and holding on to your dreams. It tells the story of Jon, a promising composer, on the eve of his thirtieth birthday. His girlfriend wants to get married and move out of the city (tick); his best friend is making big bucks on Madison Avenue (tick); and he's still waiting tables and trying to write the Great American Musical before time and life pass him by (BOOM!).
PREPARATION: Please prepare 32 bars with sheet music in key of an uptempo song in the rock musical theatre genre. You may also be asked to sing 16 - 32 bars of a ballad. Cold readings from the script and a brief choreography audition should also be expected. The selected sides from the script will be available prior to the audition upon request.
