Blue Room Young Company

Snow White

The Blue Room Young Company is pleased to announce the successful completion of their latest production, Snow White, which they performed for packed houses on August 9th and 10th.

The current membership had lots to say about their experience with the Blue Room:

Weston Crumm, who played "Razzle the Dwarf" said, "It was very interesting and fun!"

Antonio Lieberum played "Salesman Sam", "The King", and "The Prince" said, "I made many friends".

Miranda Conway was "Periwinkle the Fairy": "I think it was a lot of fun, but it was also educational!".

Brixie C. Hansen-Judge, who played "Jumper the Dwarf", said her experience with the Young Company was "a little different than I expectedit was fun and exciting!"

Katie Morrison was a very scary and kooky "Queen Helga", but it wasn't easy! "I stayed up all night figuring (my character) out and I finally got it!"

Henry Naas played "The Huntsman" and "Puddin' the Dwarf", he memorized his lines in two days! "It was hard but fun!"

Justine rose Konno-Scarbrough said her experience was "Fantastic! I had a bunch of fun, I like working with Lisa (the director)." She played "Willow the Fairy".

Angela Lashbrook was "Oleander the Fairy". She had lots to say, "I would love to be in another play, since I want to win an Oscar I guess I'll need the experienceMy favorite part (about the Young Company) was that everyone got along. When (newer members) came they were immediately accepted into the group, ya know? Yeah!" One thing she's learned? "I can't sing if my life depended on it! Really, I can break the glass!"

The rest of the Young Company agrees. From "Snow White", played by Cypress Durkin, to "C.C." played by Dawn Hulfish and "Olalaberry" and "The Mirror" both played by Celia Eckert, helping to write their parts and making new friends were just a few of the highlights of their Young Company experience.

The entire cast learned a lot more than how to play their part - from set design and costuming to stage presence and taking direction, each member had hands-on experience learning all about how a production comes together from start to finish. Lisa Schmidt, the Young Company Director, taught the young thespians games and other fun ways to develop their skills, which every member of the Young Company said they "Loved -Especially the wild improv games!"

Would any of the Young Company like to be a part of another play someday? All of them yelled their reply, a resounding "Yes!".
