| | Commedia dell’arte, Italian for “comedy of the professional artists,” was a popular form of improvisational theatre that began in Italy in the 15th century and continued in its appeal for centuries. The influence of commedia dell’arte is evident in much of our contemporary comedy, most notably in the great commedia artists of the 20th century, the Marx Brothers. During this session at Blue Room Jr. children will learn all about the Commedia players, as well as learning the basic of theatre. Once a week there will be Improv workshops, as well as a mask making seminar. The session will culminate in a full scale Commedia show full of big characters, big laughs, and big fun.
